Not all real estate agents are Realtors®. Only agents who have joined the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and have agreed to adhere to their strict Code of Ethics are qualified to use the term Realtor®. Members also belong to their state's association of Realtors®, which in Indiana is the Indiana Association of Realtors® (IAR). This webpage is sponsered by the local Washington Board of Realtors®, and you can be assured that all of the members listed here belong to the NAR, IAR and WCBOR. When you hire a real estate professional be sure that they are provide you with the highest standard of conduct by displaying the Realtor® symbol.

The Grievance Process

If you feel your REALTOR® and/or their Managing Broker failed to act according to the Code of Ethics, we want to know about it. Here are the steps to our grievance process, which is for both clients and fellow REALTORS®. You must file a complaint within 180 days from the time you knew or reasonably should have known that potentially unethical conduct took place.
  1. Is your/the Broker a REALTOR®?
  2. Talk with your/the REALTOR® and/or their Managing Broker.
  3. File a complaint with the appropriate local REALTOR® association.
Staff may need to refer you to the state of Indiana'/s Real Estate Commission or the Office of the Indiana Attorney General.
